Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Fund Development Board (the Board) is an autonomous body established on March 14. 1996 under the Development Board Act, 1956, is implementing demand- led community based rural water supply and sanitation programs with participatory approach to bring about fundamental changes in the conventional supply oriented approach in water supply and sanitation sector in the country.
Currently, the Board is implementing Second Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Project (RWSSP-II, 2004-August, 2011; funded by International Development Association (IDA) and Government of Nepal (GoN) as a follow on to the RWSSP Government of Nepal has expressed its long-term commitment to the Board as a sector institution and to the RWSS sector as a to government priority.
